I’ve been working in the creative industry for over 30 years, ranging from small studios to larger agencies employing over 300 people, both within brands and agency side. In addition, working with a number of clients on a freelance basis.

Starting as a Letterpress Compositor in print, through Apple Mac Artworking via Paste-Up, I retrained several times to embrace several major technology changes in a relatively short period in history. My varied experiences are valuable in preparation of artwork in relation to various processes.

Range of work from Press, Brochures and Magazines, Books through to Direct Mail and POS.

OOH Print, Event and Exhibition assets, Retail Environments and Packaging.

DOOH, adapting web-banners and emailers, general retouching of images that need improvement or alteration.

Able to work effectively with a creative team or alongside a project/production manager, designer, design director from a brief and/or approved design visual for the job to be artworked faithfully across a broad range of brand application and adaptation.

To provide support to your in house design team with someone who can provide artworking excellence, help to meet tight deadlines and the flexibility to increase your design team. Familiar with working in a production-based studio and have an excellent understanding of the print process, combining type usage and layout, across a wide range of productions.

Often work alongside junior artworkers and designers to help improve type and layout skills – kerning, smart quotes, tracking, leading etc.

Can effectively liaise with a printer or supplier to ensure artwork is print-ready and produced faithfully.
